AchieveMint Rewards ("we," "our," or "us") is a classroom motivation platform designed for teachers, school administrators, and school districts. We are committed to protecting the privacy of students, parents, and educators who use our platform, and to complying with applicable education privacy laws including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
2. What Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the platform:
- Teachers & Admins: Name, email address, school/district affiliation, and program usage data.
- Students: First and last name, grade level, class period, and earned credits/achievements within the platform. We do not collect student personal or home email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, or any government-issued identifiers. A school email address may be collected if provided by the teacher or school for the purpose of platform access.
- Parents: Email address (optional), used only to provide parent-facing progress updates.
- Usage Data: Standard platform usage logs (e.g., login timestamps, feature interactions) for platform improvement and security.
3. How We Use Data
- To operate and deliver the AchieveMint Rewards platform to your school or classroom
- To display student progress (credits, levels, achievements) to authorized teachers and parents
- To send optional parent notification emails when configured by the teacher
- To improve platform features and ensure security
We do not sell student data. We do not use student data for advertising.
4. FERPA Compliance
AchieveMint Rewards is designed to be used under the direction of school officials (teachers and administrators) who are responsible for ensuring FERPA compliance within their institutions. When schools use AchieveMint Rewards:
- The school (or district) acts as the data controller.
- AchieveMint Rewards acts as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest, as permitted under FERPA.
- Student educational records entered into the platform remain the property of the school/district.
- Schools may request deletion of all student records at any time by contacting us.
5. COPPA Compliance
AchieveMint Rewards does not directly collect personal information from children under 13. Students access the platform through a teacher-assigned class code and are managed entirely by their teacher or school administrator. No direct registration by students under 13 is permitted without school authorization. If you believe a child's data has been collected improperly, please contact us immediately at the address below.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share personal information with third parties except:
- Service Providers: Infrastructure and hosting providers (such as our platform host) who process data solely on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Student data is retained only as long as the associated teacher or school account remains active. Teachers can archive or delete individual student records at any time from their dashboard. Schools or districts may request full data deletion by contacting us. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and secure authentication to protect all data stored on our platform.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of AchieveMint Rewards after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
